Individuals Recovered from Severe COVID-19 are Predispose to Develop Atrial Fibrillation

Severe COVID-19 recovery may increase atrial fibrillation risk due to autonomic dysfunction. Post-COVID-19 patients, especially those with severe illness, show altered heart rate turbulence (HRT), indicating a higher predisposition to atrial fibrillation.

- Blunted atrial HRT, a risk factor for AF, is more prevalent in individuals recovered from severe COVID-19.
- Patients recovering from severe COVID-19 warrant careful evaluation for atrial HRT to assess AF risk.
