Hybrid intercalated duct lesion in conjunction with pleomorphic adenoma: A rare co-existence

Intercalated ductal lesions (IDL) are the rare lesions of salivary glands. These lesions range from ductal hyperplasia to adenomas. The first case was reported nearly three decades ago, yet very few cases are available in the literature. Many researchers postulate these lesions as precursors of other salivary malignancies, while few studies show mutations in CTNNB1 and HRAS genes. The causative factors of these lesions and their association with other lesions of salivary glands need to be studied further. Here, we present a case report of pleomorphic adenoma with IDL, which could be a drop in a future ocean of these lesions.
