Histomorphological spectrum of Adnexal Tumor with rippled pattern an unusual variant: Report of three cases

A rippled pattern means cells arranged in alternating areas of epithelial cells as cords and stroma along with myxoid stroma; this gives a striking feature if present in a cutaneous adnexal tumor. "Rippled" means "gradually spreading effect." Tumors with rippled patterns have been described in trichoblastoma, trichomatricoma, trichoblastoma with sebaceous differentiation, trichoblastoma with apocrine differentiation, sebaceoma, basal cell carcinoma, fibrohistiocytic tumors, mesenchymal tumors, and melanocytic tumors. We hereby present three cases of cutaneous adnexal tumor with a rippled pattern diagnosed as trichoblastoma, cylindroma, and sebaceous carcinoma.
