This article summarises the vaccination recommendations for patients with chronic lung disease.* In Switzerland, vaccination against influenza, Covid-19, pneumococcus and varicella-zoster virus (VVZ) is recommended for this at-risk group. The vaccination rate could be improved, particularly against pneumococcus. Vaccinations against VZV and pertussis reduce reactivation and infection rates. However, vaccination against pertussis remains limited by its rapid loss of effectiveness. The future should bring new vaccines against pneumococcus with even higher valency and the first vaccines against respiratory syncytial virus.
