Large Single-Center Experience With Extubation During Neonatal and Pediatric Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation

Extubating select pediatric patients on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is feasible and safe. This approach may reduce lung injury and improve patient outcomes, with a higher survival rate observed in extubated patients.

- While some complications like GI hemorrhage and CRRT use were more frequent, overall major complications were not increased.
