None:
A biscyclometalated Ir(III) complex bearing a triarylborane unit (IrDB) catalyzes the reduction of CO2 to CO and HCOOH under visible light irradiation in the presence of 1,3-dimethyl-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-benzo[d]imidazole (BIH). A direct covalent linkage between the two components-the Ir(III) metal center and the triarylborane moiety-is essential for achieving the photocatalytic activity.
