Abstract:
Dimethyl phthalate (DMP) is widely used as a plasticizer in the plastics industry, posing a serious threat to environmental pollution and public health. In this work, CuFe2O4@AC was used as a coating to prepare a novel solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fiber. CuFe2O4@AC fiber exhibits a larger specific surface area and more active sites, significantly enhancing DMP enrichment efficiency. The SPME method was applied for DMP measurement in beverages. Under optimal conditions, the developed method demonstrates a low detection limit (0.07 ng mL-1), a wide linear range (0.5-1000 ng mL-1), and good repeatability. Subsequently, SPME method combined with electro-Fenton degradation was established. The degradation process of DMP was dynamically analyzed by combining DFT calculation with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. We developed a dynamic analytical method for extracting and monitoring electro-Fenton degradation products. This approach demonstrates significant potential for monitoring the degradation process of trace environmental endocrine disruptors.

Types of Step-Growth Polymers: Polyesters
Polyesters are commonly prepared from terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol; the crude product is known as poly(ethylene terephthalate) or PET. However, polyesters are synthesized industrially by transesterification of dimethyl terephthalate with ethylene glycol at 150 °C. The two reactants and the polymer...
