Interprofessional collaboration is essential for optimizing care, which requires an evidence-based harmonization of nursing and medical practices. This article, co-authored by physicians and nurses, clarifies several persistent misconceptions, including systematic precautions following axillary dissection, the use of hydrogen peroxide tests to detect occult blood, transfusion avoidance in cases of isolated fever, prolonged delays in urinary catheter removal, and clinical overestimation of foul-smelling urine. A critical review of these practices helps strengthen interprofessional collaboration, improve the safety and quality of care, and minimize unnecessary interventions.
