Abstract:
An amphiphilic Zn(II)-coordination polymer (CP3) was rationally designed, successfully synthesised, and crystallographically characterized. It was derived from the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) flurbiprofen, as well as isophthalic acid and Zn(NO3)2. CP3 was loaded with the anti-cancer drug doxorubicin, which was delivered to multicellular spheroids of the HeLa cancer cells, thereby making it suitable for developing a multi-drug delivery system.
