Abstract:
This research introduces an electrochemically induced one-pot reaction designed for a three-component system to synthesize quinazolinone derivatives using isatoic anhydride, styrene, and hydrochloride amine as the starting substrates. Importantly, this reaction can be conducted in the absence of metal catalysts or oxidizing agents and exclusively relies on electrochemical redox mechanisms. Key advantages include the use of readily accessible raw materials, simple operational procedures, environmental sustainability, and high atomic efficiency. Lastly, reactions conducted on a gram scale illustrated the considerable practical applicability of this method.
