Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the impact of targeted therapy on cognitive function in advanced lung cancer patients.
  • To explore associations between cognitive function, C-reactive protein, and psychological stress.

Main Methods:

  • 87 advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with gene mutations were selected.
  • Evaluations included the Mini-Mental State Examination, Distress Thermometer, and EORTC QLQ-C30.

Main Results:

  • Patients with cognitive disorder had significantly lower progression-free survival (PFS) and response rates.
  • Cognitive function declined post-therapy in both affected and unaffected groups.
  • Quality of life and C-reactive protein levels showed significant differences and trends post-therapy.

  • Cognitive disorder is associated with reduced quality of life and PFS in patients on targeted therapy.
