This article discusses the prevalence and impact of obesity in psoriatic arthritis, describes the commonly associated comorbidities in psoriatic arthritis and their management, and analyzes the effects of obesity and comorbidities on outcomes in psoriatic arthritis. The authors performed a search using Medline, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science with a predefined protocol. Various comorbidities were assessed and analyzed. Long-term outcomes and the impact of comorbidities on treatment responses and the quality of life of patients with psoriatic arthritis are discussed. Obesity increases the risk of the development of psoriatic arthritis and impacts negatively on treatment responses and outcomes.
