The effect of the HIS on the knowledge management of hospital managers: A case study

Hospital Information System is one of the effective factors on the knowledge management of health care organizations; this research was conducted with the aim of determining the impact of the use of the hospital information system on the knowledge management of managers in educational-therapeutic hospitals of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences.

This applied research is descriptive-analytical and was conducted in 2023. The studied population included 106 managers of top, middle, and operational levels in teaching-treatment hospitals of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. The data collection tool was a questionnaire, whose validity and reliability were checked and confirmed. Descriptive and inferential data analysis was done in SPSS version 20 software.

The data were determined in terms of financial, clinical, and human resources criteria. The information system was significant in the financial (t_ (0/05) =1.72) and clinical (z_0 = 1.96) components, and it was not significant in the human resources component.

According to the findings of this research that the hospital information system has no effect on the knowledge management of managers in human resources and also has less effect on clinical criteria, it is recommended that the reasons for not paying attention to these two things in hospitals are investigated. It is expected that by developing the power and increasing the experience of both groups, a change of attitude will occur in our country in line with the evolution that these systems have undergone in advanced countries.
