Spinal arachnoid cysts (SACs) can cause spinal cord compression. A complex thoracic extradural SAC case in a young male was successfully treated with a novel surgical approach combining fistula clipping and coil embolization.
Area of Science:
- Neurosurgery
- Radiology
- Neurology
Background:
- Spinal arachnoid cysts (SACs) are rare, potentially causing progressive spinal cord compression.
- Symptomatic extradural SACs present diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, especially in young patients.
