Abstract:
Linfuranone F (1), a new furanone-containing polyketide, was isolated from the culture extract of an actinomycete of the genus Sphaerimonospora along with three known linfuranones B (2), C (3), and D (4). Compound 1 was established as a 6,7-dehydrated congener of 3 by comparing their spectroscopic data and considering their biosynthetic relatedness. All compounds displayed agonistic activity against PPARγ in a reporter gene assay and 1 showed the highest activity.
