Abstract:
The percentage of nurses who hold a specialty certification remains low and there remains a need for frontline nurses to actively participate in quality improvement and research projects. In a busy healthcare environment, supporting the professional growth of nurses requires creative methods. This manuscript describes the successful implementation of an ambulatory care nursing certification review course and an ambulatory care nursing care symposium as support tools to promote the professional development of nurses.
