The aim of the Orion research program was to understand the perceptions, social representations and logic of action surrounding the management of urinary incontinence in elderly people living in institutions. This health problem is represented as an object of disgust, misunderstood and systematically associated with dependence. Recommendations have been put forward to improve care for the elderly and preserve their dignity.
