None:
The observation of aerobic cultivations via their oxygen demand is an important part of any management of a biotechnological process. In addition to process monitoring, exhaust gas composition is used for process control or process and bioreactor characterization. Oxygen and carbon dioxide (O2, CO2) evolution in the exhaust gas flow are usually the key components that allow obtaining important real-time insights about the cultivations, which are very valuable for the online monitoring and control of bioprocesses. They are commonly described by their mole fractions, and , respectively, which can be easily measured by implementing commercially available off-gas analyzers in the exhaust gas.
