Postoperative Catastrophic Spinal Epidural Hematoma Due to Hemophilia C: A Case Report

A 19-year-old male patient with a thoracolumbar spinal fracture, who developed a recurrent postoperative spinal epidural hematoma (SEH) resulting in a progressive neurological deficit, is presented here. Detailed laboratory tests confirmed hemophilia C. Through a combination of meticulous medical management and surgical evacuation of the hematoma, the bleeding was stopped, and the patient recovered neurologically.

This case underscores the importance of considering rare bleeding disorders, such as hemophilia C, in the diagnosis of patients with recurrent SEH.
