Rhodium(III)-Catalyzed Conjugate Addition of sp2 C-H Bonds to 1-Azadienes: Access to Benzofuran Derivatives
1Department of Chemistry, University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, Anhui 230026, P. R. China.
Abstract:
In the presence of AgOTf or AgSbF6, [Cp*RhCl2]2-catalyzed sp2 C-H bond activation of 2-alkenylpyridines or 2-arylpyridines followed by conjugate addition to 2-arylidene-N-sulfonylbenzofuran-3(2H)-imines results in benzofuran derivatives. This protocol features mild reaction conditions, wide substrate scope, and good functional group tolerance.
