Prolonged Antibiotic Duration Is Not Associated With Reduced Surgical Site Infection After Lower Extremity Bypass

Prolonging antibiotic prophylaxis beyond 24 hours did not reduce surgical site infections (SSIs) after infrainguinal bypass surgery. This finding supports antimicrobial stewardship by limiting antibiotic use to within 24 hours for lower extremity bypass procedures.
