Abstract:
A novel method for peri-implant soft tissue management in the reconstructed jaw using computer-aided design (CAD) and 3-dimensional (3D) printing to fabricate a custom set of an interim implant-supported prosthesis and mucocompressive surgical stent (IISP-MCSS), combined with the use of a suture-anchor system (SAS) is described. This technique was used in the surgical procedure of peri-implant keratinized mucosa augmentation in a patient with a reconstructed jaw. The mucocompressive surgical stent was designed to protect the free epithelial masticatory mucosal graft, and the custom interim implant-supported prosthesis was incorporated to enable simultaneous prosthetic restoration. Suture anchors from the SAS were implanted into the reconstructed bone to achieve the optimal vestibular depth. The intraoperative procedure involved SAS-aided vestibuloplasty, free epithelial grafting, and delivery of the IISP-MCSS. Postoperative outcomes showed effective graft integration and optimal vestibular depth.
