Labour epidural analgesia is the gold standard of intrapartum analgesia used in approximately 30% of Danish births. In rare cases, the epidural catheter may break during insertion or removal. This is a case report of a 31-year-old first-time pregnant woman in which the epidural catheter broke during removal. She did not present with any neurological symptoms, but a CT revealed the catheter tip in the ligamentum flavum. Two months postpartum, she was still without any symptoms, and a neurosurgical assessment indicated that surgery was unnecessary.
