Abstract:
We report a palladium-catalyzed Hiyama-type coupling of arylsulfonium salts with structurally diverse arylsilanes via C(sp2)-S bond cleavage. This desulfitative transformation accommodates a broad substrate scope with remarkable functional group compatibility, which could also be conducted in a one-pot, telescoped procedure from aryl thioether without isolation. The utility of this methodology has been underscored by the gram-scale synthesis, formal C(sp2)-H Hiyama-type coupling, and concise late-stage modification of pharmaceutically relevant molecules.
