Structural heterogeneity in tin-intercalated tantalum diselenide (SnxTaSe2) was revealed by advanced techniques like single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) and scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM). Routine methods failed to detect this diversity, underscoring the need for high-resolution characterization of layered materials.
