Surgery And Anesthesia:
THE UNIFYING CHALLENGE OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT. The ecological transition is one of the challenges for operating theater teams. Several axes of work are possible and necessarily a multidisciplinary, time and awareness of all the staff of the operating room. It is necessary to work on energy conservation (mainly ventilation and air conditioning), to rethink the use of single-use equipment and to reduce medicated heating. The waste generated must be revalued or recycled as soon as possible in specific sectors. There is also an issue specific to anesthesia linked to the greenhouse gases used, the removal of desflurane and nitrous oxide are now recommended by the SFAR. In any case, it is unifying challenge for a team which is part of a general interest mission and for future generations.
