Formation of Nanocompounds of TiO2 Using PVA-HAp Nanofibers by Sol-Gel Technique

Abstract:
The use of hydroxyapatite (HAp) nanofibers in combination with titanium dioxide (TiO2) emerges as a method for the design and improvement of materials at the biomedical, architectonic, and industrial levels. In this research, TiO2 nanocomposites were developed using HAp nanofibers through the sol-gel technique. The molecular assembly strategy reveals the formation of nanocomposites with sizes of 100-500 nm at 700 °C. EDS analysis shows the presence of Ca and P, indicating that HAp nanofibers have been integrated into the nanocomposites. The crystalline phases corresponding to rutile and anatase were detected by X-ray spectroscopy analysis. The morphology of the composites was analyzed by surface segmentation analysis, scanning electron microscope, and scanning tunneling microscope.
