Abstract:
This article explores the role of physical activity monitors (PAMs) in addressing these challenges, focusing on their reliability, validity, and responsiveness in idiopathic inflammatory myopath (IIM) patients. PAMs provide continuous, objective data on physical activity. Evidence supports the use of PAMs as reliable tools in both adult and juvenile IIM populations, correlating with clinical disease measures and reflecting changes in disease activity. This article discusses current findings, limitations, and future directions for integrating PAMs into clinical practice and research, highlighting their potential to improve disease monitoring, patient management, and research outcomes.
