Temporomandibular Joint Fractures Undisplaced: Case Series of Imaging Modalities AD Management

Background:
Undisplaced fractures of the right mandibular fossa are rare and often difficult to diagnose due to their subtle clinical presentation. These fractures, if untreated, can lead to long-term complications, including temporomandibular joint dysfunction.
Objective:
To present a case series of undisplaced fractures of the right mandibular fossa, highlighting diagnostic approaches, treatment methods, and outcomes.
Methods:
This case series includes four patients who sustained blunt trauma, leading to undisplaced fractures of the right mandibular fossa. Both patients were diagnosed using 3D computed tomography (CT) and treated conservatively. Management included restricted jaw movement, NSAIDs, and follow-up imaging to monitor healing.
Results:
All the patients demonstrated full recovery within six to eight weeks of conservative treatment. Follow-up CT scans confirmed complete fracture healing, with no residual symptoms or complications.
Conclusion:
Undisplaced fractures of the right mandibular fossa can be effectively managed with conservative treatment. Early and accurate diagnosis using advanced imaging modalities, like 3D CT, is essential to avoid potential complications and ensure optimal outcomes.
