The ninth edition of the TNM staging classification of pleural mesothelioma is an update in the TNM staging, refining the tumor descriptors with the first-time use of a size criteria for tumor evaluation in addition to invasion of adjacent structures. There are no changes to the N and M categories. These modifications aim to improve staging accuracy and guide clinical decision-making.
