Summary

Totally endoscopic aortic valve replacement using a longitudinal aortotomy is feasible for bicuspid aortic valves. This approach facilitated annular remodeling and successful bioprosthesis implantation.

Area of Science:

  • Cardiovascular Surgery
  • Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery
  • Aortic Valve Disease

Background:

  • Severe aortic stenosis in a 70-year-old male with type 0 bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and NYHA class II symptoms.
