Abstract:
Accurate implant placement is critical for the long-term success of implant-supported prostheses. Conventional implant guides are limited by reduced intraoperative visibility, poor irrigation, and mechanical tolerance mismatches in sleeves. Dynamic navigation has its share of limitations, including high cost, specialized technology, a demanding learning curve, and the need for accurate system calibration. A design of a sleeve-free detachable handpiece-guided dental implant device with the advantages of improved visibility and irrigation is presented.
