Endoscopic Spray Cryotherapy for Bleeding Malignant Invasion of the Rectosigmoid Colon

Hematochezia can result from a variety of gastrointestinal and systemic causes, including malignancy. We present a 74-year-old woman with persistent rectal bleeding due to malignant invasion of the rectosigmoid colon from recurrent primary peritoneal psammocarcinoma. As the patient was a poor surgical candidate, she was treated with endoscopic spray cryotherapy across 3 sessions, achieving durable hemostasis. This case highlights the broader utility of endoscopic spray cryotherapy as a feasible, palliative option for rectal malignancy-related bleeding when surgery is not a viable option.
