Tilt reconstruction using entropy minimization in optical scanning holography
Abstract:
Conventional optical scanning holography faces challenges in capturing off-axis light owing to its coaxial recording geometry. Optical scanning tilt holography (OSTH) addresses this limitation by introducing a scanning beam tilted relative to the object axis. The axial resolution of OSTH surpasses that of conventional OSH, improving the sensitivity of depth measurement. In addition, multiple holograms recorded by OSTH can be easily synthesized for stereoscopic display for virtual reality. However, angular mismatches during reconstruction cause image blur. To address this issue, we propose a tilt reconstruction method using entropy minimization to estimate the optimal tilt angle without prior knowledge of the tilt angle. The experiment demonstrated the effectiveness of the method in eliminating tilt-induced blur for both transmissive single-layer objects and reflective three-dimensional objects.
