Abstract:
Francesco Redi invented scientifically controlled experimentation. He is best known for demonstrating that insects arise only from the eggs of other insects and not spontaneously from decaying matter, and is regarded by many as the father of parasitology. Here, we highlight the foundational work of Redi for his 400th birthday.
