1Department of Gastroenterology, Peking University First Hospital, Beijing 100034, China.
Abstract:
Autoimmune gastrointestinal dysmotility (AGID) is a manifestation of autoimmune autonomic dysfunction specifically affecting the gastrointestinal tract. As one of the causes of gastrointestinal dysmotility, it remains under-recognized in clinical practice. This article reviews the etiology, clinical types, related manifestations, diagnostic basis, evaluation methods, and current treatment approaches of AGID. It comprehensively elaborates on the pathogenesis, and current diagnosis and treatment status of AGID, aiming help clinicians deepen the understanding of the disease and improve the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of gastrointestinal motility disorders of unknown cause.
