Pes planovalgus is a prevalent deformity treated globally by foot and ankle surgeons. Surgical correction is indicated when a patient has failed conservative therapy or the deformity is unsuitable for conservative treatment. While correction of pes planovalgus often requires multiple procedures, the Evans osteotomy is widely utilized due to the robust triplanar correction it offers. This article aims to review the indications and surgical technique of the Evans osteotomy, while expanding on its indications that are not traditionally considered.
