Abstract:
Glycosylation as a central molecular mechanism linking cancer progression to NDDs. Center, the process of glycosylation which affects abnormal glycan expression, gene regulation, and immune system dysfunction. Left, basic features of tumorigenesis: immune escape, cell proliferation, and metastasis. Right, critical neurodevelopmental processes: synaptic plasticity, neuronal migration, and neuroimmune interactions. Key molecules contributing to both the pathobiology of cancer and NDDs are shown.
