Abstract:
A review of literature on currently available tools for diagnosing speech and language development disorders In Russian-speaking children has been conducted. The relevance of timely diagnosis and classification of speech disorders in modern diagnostic and statistical manuals are described. The lack of standardized, valid speech assessment tools that can be used in both routine practice by pediatricians, psychiatrists, neurologists, speech therapists, and for research purposes is addressed.
