Hemispheric lateralization during maintenance of verbal and visuospatial working memory

Verbal working memory (VWM) is left-lateralized, while visuospatial working memory (SWM) shows bilateral brain activity, according to this study using functional transcranial Doppler sonography (fTCD). Individual differences in brain laterality were observed.
