Abstract:
Rapid weight gain after PEG placement can precipitate Buried Bumper Syndrome (BBS) by increasing abdominal wall thickness, even in nonobese patients. Regular reassessment of external bumper position and tube length is essential in patients expected to gain weight during nutritional rehabilitation, to prevent this potentially serious complication.
