Effect of Different Oversampling Ratios for Switch Mode Amplifiers in Low-Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Abstract:
The presented study investigates the influence of different oversampling ratios of a switch mode amplifier when used as a radio frequency power amplifier in a low-field magnetic resonance imaging scanner. The switch mode amplifier is compared with a linear amplifier in basic MRI measurements. For this purpose, free induction decay spectrum and gradient echo projection sequences are applied. A radio frequency pulse with a rectangular envelope is used for global excitation and a radio frequency pulse with a sinc envelope is used for slice selective excitation. The spectra acquired show that the average peak maximum increases with higher oversampling ratios.
