Portable system for transient response of ultrathin organic electrochemical transistor arrays
Abstract:
Organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) have been used for various applications in health monitoring due to their built-in amplification and biocompatibility. This work establishes a straightforward fabrication process for an ultrathin and flexible OECT array. The array's OECTs achieve peak transconductance values of 4.7 mS to 5.1 mS and ON-OFF current ratios of 201 to 243. A portable system is developed for easy transient characterization of OECTs in response to stimulation signals with a frequency range of 1-10 Hz and magnitudes of 5-100 mV, removing the need for bulky specialized characterization equipment.Clinical Relevance- This study presents the development of an ultrathin OECT array and a portable characterization system that offers convenient and reliable transient testing before in vivo recording of biopotential signals.
