Analgesic Low-Dose Ketamine Infusions and Central Nervous System Adverse Effects: A Prospective Cohort Study

Low dose ketamine infusions (LDKI) may reduce postoperative pain but are associated with an increased risk of nightmares and hallucinations. Major central nervous system effects like delirium were not significantly increased, supporting LDKI safety in multimodal analgesia.

- No significant association with major CNS adverse effects (delirium, sedation, agitation) was found.
- LDKI appears safe as an adjuvant in multimodal analgesia for postoperative pain management.
