Abstract:
A photocatalytic C-H tetrafluoroethylation of aldehyde hydrazones with cheap and commercially available 1,2-dibromotetrafluoroethane (Freon 114B2) was developed for the synthesis of tetrafluoroethylated hydrazones. Remarkable characteristics of this approach include mild reaction conditions, good functional group compatibility, practicability of one-pot synthetic manipulation, and feasible late-stage modification of pharmaceutical and natural molecules.
