Uptake of Generative AI Integrated With Electronic Health Records in US Hospitals

Over half of US hospitals plan to adopt generative artificial intelligence (AI) integrated with electronic health records (EHRs) by 2025. Experience with predictive AI and EHR system (Epic) are associated with faster adoption of generative AI.

- Support is needed to facilitate the adoption of beneficial generative AI in healthcare.
- Developing and disseminating best practices for evaluating generative AI is essential for responsible implementation.
