Abstract:
Intraoperative coronary artery dissection may become apparent during periods of increased myocardial oxygen demand rather than at onset. In the case of cardiogenic shock undergoing venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, the patient's preserved right heart function and slight improvement in left heart contraction due to circulatory support may have collectively prevented excessive cardiac load.
