Antiresonant hollow-core fiber-assisted differential optical absorption spectroscopy with ppb-level trace gas
Abstract:
Herein, an antiresonant hollow-core fiber-based trace gas detection utilizing differential optical absorption spectroscopy (DOAS) is reported for the first time. The applied non-wavelength modulation combined with time division multiplexing (TDM) techniques reducing intermodal interference and, hence, mode-coupling noise in hollow-core fibres. Proof-of-concept experiments aimed at acetylene (C2H2) detection at 1532.83 nm were successfully performed, yielding a minimum detection limit of 840 ppbv and a noise equivalent absorption coefficient of 4.84 × 10-7 cm-1 at 8 s of integration time through a 1.4 m fiber.
