Defect-driven accelerated structural transformation from metal-organic frameworks: a boost for the oxygen evolution
Abstract:
The development of efficient oxygen evolution electrocatalysts is pivotal for green hydrogen production, a cornerstone of achieving a zero-carbon society. Herein, we demonstrate a defect engineering strategy to boost the OER performance by facilitating in situ structural transformation from metal-organic frameworks to oxygen vacancy-rich metal oxyhydroxides as catalytically active sites, achieving an ultralow overpotential of 266 mV at 100 mA cm-2 and exceptional operational stability even under alkaline seawater conditions.
