Sialendoscopy is a key procedure for salivary gland pathologies.
The role of perioperative steroids in sialendoscopy remains debated.
Further evidence is needed to clarify steroid efficacy in this context.

Conclusions:

Steroid irrigation's effect may be confounded by mechanical flushing.
Current evidence is insufficient to demonstrate statistically significant differences with steroid use.
Further high-quality studies are required to elucidate the role of steroids in sialendoscopy.
